I read a friends' post on facebook sometimes ago asking me to check those who deleted me from their friends list. But guess what? I laughed in Chinese and simply said "anyone who deletes me without me noticing is not worth being my friend in the first place".

Come on! You're a mast and mast cannot be hidden. You're meant to be a super star. A shining example to your world. Your name is expected to attract some eternal relevance. A hero -that's who you're made to be!

That's not to mean you should start putting up an 'I too know' attitude. Neither do you need to start behaving in some hypocritical way. Just do what you know how to do best and hand over the neatly-packed rest to God!

Ban of All Promotions and Lotteries by Telecommunications Operators

The Commission has, in recent times been inundated with several complaints from consumers, Industry Stakeholders against the various promotions offered by Telecommunications Operators.

Consistent with its processes, the Commission has carefully evaluated the complaints received especially against the backdrop of sustaining the integrity of the networks, the general interest of the consumers, the socio-economic impact of these promotions on Operators and other relevant stakeholders.

The Commission is also mindful of its statutory responsibilities such as; to protect and promote the interest of consumers against unfair practices, promote fair competition in the industry by protecting Operators from misuse of market power and anti-competitive/unfair practices by other Operators.

i. In due regard to the afore-mentioned responsibilities therefore and having observed that these promotions have increased the number of minutes available to subscribers for use within a limited period of time thereby creating congestion in the networks as subscribers try to use up the available minutes within the stipulated time.

ii. That on-net calls were now being offered by Operators at tariffs well below the prevailing inter-connect rates thereby introducing anti-competitive practices and behaviour.

iii. That termination of calls were becoming increasingly difficult from one network to another and overall consumer experience on the networks has become very poor thereby making it extremely difficult for subscribers to make calls successfully.

Consequent upon the above-mentioned, the Commission therefore has banned all promotions by Telecommunications Network Operators as well as lotteries being carried out on such networks. This ban covers all proposed and approved promotions and lotteries on which the Commission has given approval further to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) entered into with the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC).

This ban is with immediate effect and shall continue to remain in force until such a time as may be determined by the Commission. The Telecom Operators affected by this include the following:

• GLOBACOM LTD
• MTN
• INTERCELLULAR NIG PLC
• VISAFONE COMMS LTD
• ETISALAT
• AIRTEL NETWORKS LTD
• MULTILINKS TELECOMS LTD

The Commission wishes to assure all Telecommunications consumers of its resolve to ensure that the Quality of Service offered across all networks is such that delivers value to the consumers.

PREREQUISITE FOR GOING UP HIGHER

I learnt something of great importance on RCCG's alter during the just concluded 60th Annual Convention. The theme of the week long programme is "Come up Higher". On the alter is a picture of a man trying to climb a staircase. That's not the point though. What I noticed was that he was backing the congregation. I've seen this picture over a thousand and one times but the Holy Spirit chose to minister to me through it.
According to the theme (Come up Higher), the Holy Spirit made it clear to me that; if I must go higher, I must be ready to:

Step out of the multitude!
You cannot move up in the midst of crowd. Even when you try so hard, your effort will be impeded and you will see yourself moving in snail's speed. When in a midst of crowd, you cannot express yourself. Even if you do, no one will hear because of the deafening noise that emanates from the surrounding people. That wouldn't have been a problem had anyone cared to listen -everyone is busy with his or her personal issues!
Coming out of crowd does not mean however, that you should ostracize yourself.
*It simply means; getting out of relationships that won't make God proud of you as His child.
*It means leaving that evil clique that directly or indirectly glorifies the Devil.
*It also means doing things in an unusual way as directed by the Holy Spirit.
*It involves trying new things.


Do you desire to go up higher? Then, match out of the crowd! Move way from distractions and stay focused. Don't get entangled with mixed multitude. Stand tall and match higher...

In my opinion, words such as 'IMPOSSIBILITY' and 'IMPOSSIBLE' should be expunged from the English Dictionary. They don't exist in the real sense!

Mind you, which of these new words by yours truly do you deem fit as a worthy replacement for the afore mentioned words:
1. Netpal /'netpal/ n formal
someone you met and made friend with on the internet.
Who's that you're chatting with? C'mon dear, she's just my netpal.

2. Chinkowood /'tsinkowud/ n informal
any film of chinese making.
Jackie Chan is my favourite Chinkowood actor!

Here are some other sound-words by some anonymous individuals. They should be considered too.

* Mtchew /no transcription/ disapproving
the spelling of the sound that sb makes when he/she supposedly hisses. I hate beans, mtchew!

* Qi qi qi qi... /khi:khi:khi:khi:/ n
the sound that some people make when they are laughing. This they do by intermittently forcing air through a little space between the tongue and upper part of the mouth.
Qi qi qi qi... qi qi qi qi... Mr. Bean won't kill me with laughter -he's just too funny!
